چکیده

The present study was focused to the production of secondary metabolite by fungus, F. chlamydosporum on a non-defined medium with less concentration nitrogen; organic nitrogen source being peptone and beef extract. In this context, we have been successful in extracting polyketide pigment from fungus using homogenization technique. pigments thus extracted were subjected various purification techniques via thin layer chromatography, column UV-visible spectrophotometry, fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy finally molecular determination liquid chromatography coupled tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS). red characterized identified be fusarubin following which its cytotoxicity evaluated vitro normal lung fibroblast cell lines (MRC-5). verge researchers identifying novel compounds for applications, can major breakthrough as has investigated exhibit many pharmacological activities. Though is reported produced other Fusarium species, foremost chlamydosporum; composition culture also unique. probably correlates pathogenesis studies comment an opportunistic pathogen.

Identification and regulation of fusA, the polyketide synthase gene responsible for fusarin production in Fusarium fujikuroi.

Fusarins are a class of mycotoxins of the polyketide family produced by different Fusarium species, including the gibberellin-producing fungus Fusarium fujikuroi. Based on sequence comparisons between polyketide synthase (PKS) enzymes for fusarin production in other Fusarium strains, we have identified the F. fujikuroi orthologue, called fusA. The participation of fusA in fusarin biosynthesis w...

Invasive infection with Fusarium chlamydosporum in a patient with aplastic anemia.

We report the first case of invasive disease caused by Fusarium chlamydosporum. The patient had aplastic anemia with prolonged neutropenia and was treated with immunosuppressive therapy. While she was receiving empirical amphotericin B, a dark crusted lesion developed on her nasal turbinate. Histologic analysis revealed invasive hyaline hyphae and some darkly pigmented structures that resembled...

Survey of fumonisin production by Fusarium species.

Fumonisins B1 (FB1) and B2 (FB2), two structurally related mycotoxins with cancer-promoting activity, were recently isolated from corn cultures of Fusarium moniliforme MRC 826. These toxins have been reported to be produced also by isolates of F. proliferatum. Contamination of foods and feeds by F. moniliforme has been associated with human esophageal cancer risk, and FB1 has been shown to be t...

Production of fumonisin analogs by Fusarium species.

The fumonisins, a family of food-borne carcinogenic mycotoxins, were first isolated in 1988 (21) from cultures of Fusarium verticillioides (Sacc.) Nirenberg (previously known as Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon). During the same year, the structures of the fumonisins were elucidated (6) and fumonisin B1 was shown to cause equine leukoencephalomalacia (34). There have been numerous publications deal...

Phylogenomic and functional domain analysis of polyketide synthases in Fusarium.

Fusarium species are ubiquitous in nature, cause a range of plant diseases, and produce a variety of chemicals often referred to as secondary metabolites. Although some fungal secondary metabolites affect plant growth or protect plants from other fungi and bacteria, their presence in grain-based food and feed is more often associated with a variety of diseases in plants and in animals. Many of ...
